LOVE AS THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT

"The of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed...”

Jesus Christ (Luke 4: 18)

The religion Christianity it self has a lot of denominations and each denomination is following a certain doctrine. Sometimes these doctrines contradict each other and a start of endless debates and criticism on the part of each denomination. Some are proclaiming that they are the one and true religion. But if we analyze the Bible very well, in what ever translation; in English, in Latin, in Hebrew or in Jewish it teaches one thing it is love and the love of God is manifested through Jesus Christ and love is the only religion so Jesus Christ is the only religion.

Jesus uttered the greatest commandment of love in Luke 4:18 that the ministry of God is for the poor, the sick, the captives, the blind and the oppressed. These are the people who have been long forgotten and are located in marginalized sector of our society. And love does not exist in this world if there are still hungry people who can not buy their own food, if the sick people can not afford the medication for their treatment, if there are still prisoners of war and people being tortured, if there are still people being exploited and if we are still blinded by money and power. If we proclaim that we are Christians we should not be prisoners of our own soul but we should be followers of the Holy Spirit and be the concrete evidence God’s love to the marginalized sector of our society.

Now go on and set forth in preaching and proclaiming God’s love. Now go on in following Christ and Serving the People. Now go on in loving thy neighbor and becoming God’s Love. This is the word of God for the People of God.
