2007 had been filled with VIOLENCE. War...Shootings...Abductions...Extra Judicial Killings...Is it in God's will? I cannot answer that. Who can?
PEACE has been a difficult word these days. We've been so aggresive that we failed to notice the blood spill. The war or more like occupation in Iraq is still on going. Who will survive? Who will drop dead? It makes us nervous thinking about our troops but we must also keep in mind the anxiety of the civilians. Yesterday, they took away my neighbors. Maybe, today they'll take me...TERRORISM is the reason for choosing bombs instead of reaching out a hand. Can anyone justify the slaughter of the innocent? Who are we to choose between who will live or who will die? The fight against terrorism cannot comfort the grieving hearts of those who are at lost. I can hear their lamentations...
Schools are establishments that guide and sharp minds of children. Education really plays an important role in the lives of people no matter where they are situated. However, schools are threatened by mass shootings. I reflected to myself that I've never heard of any killings at schools in the Philippines. Maybe, we have been too optimistic to think of gunning down the whole school. Filipinos would rather challenge rivals to a karaoke showdown than playing with very DANGEROUS toys. Give joy...
Still, in some cases, VIOLENCE wins over peace. Abductions of defenseless women and children and people possessing the will of change. Pastors, laymen, students, farmers, and other workers...Where have they went? Where have they been taken? Who took them in the first place? Our leader...have she done anything? Have we done our part as stewards of truth? Or have we remained glued on our seats as audience to a gruesome play? The truth is these killings of our kindreds is NOT an ACT. The participants are not professional actors and actresses. They are real people living in a real world. World where lives are taken in the name of POWER. Lead us into the light...
Economic prosperity, environmental improvement, and above all, PEACE be unto us this year.
