The Cat and The Stupid Mouth

A friend of mine believes that the dead eats the food that is left out for them in their crypt. He claims that the food is gone or partially consumed in the morning. He does this every first of November. He is influenced by the pagans, I guess. This kind of belief is practiced in countries like Bolivia and Tyrol. Some people think my friend is crazy because of such culture and behavior. Yet, I always make him feel normal because most people don’t see him as one. I guess he became my friend because I found an aesthetic weirdness in his personality. The last time we talked was a year ago. He was so sensitive that he digested seriously and negatively the words I told him last November first. This is the summary of what happened. We went to a graveyard to visit a friend’s crypt. My friend brought his cat that had these creepy eyes and give chills when you stare at it for an hour without blinking. So my friend prepared the food, chanted a prayer I didn’t understand and poured some wine in the tombstone. He excused himself and went to the “dugyuting” bathroom. His cat ate the food he offered for our dead friend. I tried to stop the cat but I failed. When he came back, I calmly told him what happened. He laughed like Spongebob and said that it was our dead friend who ate the food. We conversed… no! We debated for about one hour about what happened. The last words I aguishly told him was, “Tang ina pare, kung sa mahirap mo na lang sana pinakain,.. mas may pakinabang pa diba.” After that he grabbed the cat, ripped it apart, chewed its heart, vomited and ran away. I tried calling and sending emails but he never replied. Now tell me, is it my stupid mouth’s fault or the "patay-gutom" cat’s?
